General Information

 

Abstract Book

The abstract book can be found in your congress bag.

 

Accreditation

The CME certificate will be available online at www.siop2012.org once an accreditation decision is received from the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (UEMS/EACCME). It may take several weeks to receive the CME accreditation. An email notification will be sent to all participants as soon as the certificate is available. Please visit the congress website at www.siop2012.org for updates.

 

Airport Check-in

As of Sunday 7 October, congress delegates can check in for their flight online using the terminals and printers located in the registration area.

Badges

For security reasons, delegates are requested to wear their badge at all times during the congress. Delegates having lost their badge can obtain a new badge at the registration desk. A replacement fee of 50 EUR per participant will be charged.

Welcome Reception:

The welcome reception on Friday 5 October will be held at the congress centre, the Barbican. The opening ceremony/welcome will be followed by drinks, nibbles and good conversation in a relaxed environment.
The opening ceremony will take place in the Barbican Hall, 18:00- 19:00.

Closing Reception

A closing reception courtesy of Hong Kong, host of the 2013 SIOP Congress, will be held on Monday 8 October 13:00 – 13:30.

 

Delegates can also purchase food and beverages from the cash bar on the ground floor of the Barbican.

 

Certificate of Attendance

A certificate of attendance may be printed online via the congress website at www.siop2012.org, after the congress using your badge code number. Please keep your badge to print your certificate.

Certificates of attendance may also be printed from the computers located in the internet zone as from 12:00 on Sunday 7 October. You are requested to enter your badge code number to log in and to complete a short questionnaire before obtaining your certificate. The certificate of attendance can be downloaded until January 2013 using the bar code number on your badge. Please note that the congress secretariat will not mail certificates after the congress.

 

Cloakroom

A cloakroom is situated on level -1 of the Barbican. Cloakroom opening hours are as follows:

Cloakroom facilities are free of charge.

 

Congress bag

To receive the congress bag including all congress material, please present the voucher attached to your badge at the bag distribution centre near the registration desk.

 

Exhibition

The exhibition is held on the ground floor and lower level of the congress centre. The exhibition is only open to healthcare professionals, press and exhibitors.

First Aid

Delegates requiring first aid should inform a member of Barbican or congress staff, they will alert the first aid staff on duty.

 

Insurance

The organisers of SIOP 2012 do not accept liability for individual medical, travel or personal insurance. Participants are strongly recommended to obtain their own personal insurance policies. The organisers of SIOP 2012 accept no responsibility for loss due to theft or negligence.

 

Internet WIFI Access

General WIFI access is available throughout the centre.

 

Internet Zone

The official SIOP 2012 internet zone located on the ground floor of the Barbican is available free of charge during the congress. The terminals provide you with the following services: internet browsing, access to web-based mail, the congress programme and exhibitor information.

 

Language and Translation

The official language of the congress is English. No simultaneous translation is provided.

 

Lost and Found

All enquiries should be directed to the registration helpdesk in the entrance hall. The organisers accept no responsibility for loss due to theft or negligence.

 

Registration

SIOP 2012 is open to all registered participants. Your official delegate badge is required for admission to the congress centre and all congress events. For security events, participants are requested to wear their badge at all times.

Twitter is available during the congress – tweet, network and follow updates at #SIOP2012.

 

Speaker Preview Room

A comprehensive network has been established to allow direct transfer of speakers presentations from the speaker preview room to the various session rooms.

Speakers are requested to bring their PowerPoint presentations to the speaker preview room at least FOUR hours before their session starts or a day in advance if the session starts early in the morning.

To avoid breaks between speakers, NO laptop presentations are allowed in session rooms.

 

Webcasts

All Keynote Symposia will be captured and made available online. Sessions can be viewed free of charge by congress participants on www.siop.org as of 9 October 2012.

Policies

Accessibility

SIOP 2012 is accessible to all registered delegates. Children and members of the public are not permitted in the exhibition area or any room hosting an industry activity. In addition, SIOP 2012 asks delegates and faculty to refrain from taking children and accompanying adults to any scientific sessions or practical demonstrations. In the event that children are required to enter the congress centre they should be supervised by an adult at all times and observe the restrictions that apply to limited access areas.

 

Filming, recording and photography production

SIOP reserves the rights to all recordings, reproductions or presentations at this congress.

All photography, filming, taping, recording or reproduction through any medium of any of the programmes, exhibits and/or posters presented at SIOP 2012 is strictly forbidden without the express written consent of the SIOP 2012 congress secretariat on behalf of the SIOP board, which reserves the right to prohibit any photographing, filming, recording at its own discretion.
